The Byron Lighthouse and its pristine surfing and tourist beaches are close by and present a visual contrast to the rural setting where Heika paints and draws.
HEIKA BRAHA's work has been exhibited at respected commercial and regional galleries in Sydney and northern NSW and she has completed numerous commissions for public buildings and private collections. She has lectured at University and TAFE. HEIKA BRAHA's work focuses on images which interpret her life and environment. She is strongly influenced by the natural elements of the beach and rainforest landscapes. These give context to her personal visual interpretation of elements of environmental sensitivity, mindfulness, interactions of humanity, and cultural contrasts. Using sensuous fluid lines and the luscious use of paint and layering these works seduce and enrich. HEIKA BRAHA's work continues to celebrate a raw emotional beauty whilst engaging the viewer with a uniquely sophisticated and visually articulate edge.
